Norwegian Forest Cat
Running about even in the snow, the fairy of the Norwegian forest.
The Norwegian Forest Cat is said to be the cats that appear in Norse mythology. In Norway they are called “fairies of the forest” and “Norsk Skogkatt”. In the falling snow, they are so resistant to the cold that they can run around outside. The reason is that they are covered by two kinds of hair, one to repel the snow and cold, and one wool-like layer. It grows very slowly, and takes about 3-4 years to become an adult. They have a calm personality to go with their grand appearance, and show their deep love and trust to the owner.
