Sitting
Sitting is proof of relaxation.
Cats sit in a variety of positions, and each way of sitting has a different name. Sitting with their legs under their body and their stomach on the ground is called “Box sitting” or Box making.” It is hard for cats to move immediately when sitting like this, and is something they only do when relaxed. Another way of sitting is sit on their tails, with their legs spread. This is called “Scottish sitting”. Scottish Folds sit like this often, and so it started to be called Scottish sitting. This human-like way of sitting is incredibly popular, and “Scottish sitting” photo contests have been held.
